CHILDCARE SURVEY
The MUNFA Negotiating Committee is currently negotiating Article 26, “Miscellaneous Working Conditions” with the university administration. Part of Article 26 includes language governing the provision of childcare facilities for Academic Staff Members (ASMs) and their families. It is MUNFA’s understanding that the current provisions in the St. John’s and Grenfell campuses are insufficient, both currently and in anticipation of future demand. However, we need data on which to base our demands for future childcare needs. If this issue is of interest to you, please take a moment to respond to the questions below. It would be of great use to the Negotiating Committee so we can best bargain on your behalf.
Please copy and paste the below questions into the body of an email and send with your answers to munfa@mun.ca (Please note you cannot reply directly to the listserv.)
- 1.) a. b. c.
- 2.) a. b.
Do you currently utilize childcare or afterschool care? Please specify. If yes, for how many children and what are their ages?
If yes, would you be interested in an on campus childcare centre for faculty?
Do you anticipate the need for childcare in the next five years? If so, for how many children?
3.) What campus do you work on?
Please have all responses returned ASAP with a final deadline of Friday, February 21st, 2014.
