The Memorial University of Newfoundland Faculty Association (MUNFA), representing over 900 Academic Staff Members, seeks an energetic and self-directed person to fill the position of Membership and Administrative Coordinator.

This permanent position will provide support in the maintenance of databank and membership lists, documentation regarding appointments of Academic Staff Members, and informational packages for new hires. Assists in the implementation of the communication strategy including maintenance of the MUNFA website and other social media platforms, the media contact list, and routine Information Bulletins. Coordinates the design, implementation and analysis of surveys and other data collection methods, daily media monitoring regarding relevant labour issues, and coordinates networking and other special events. Maintains the Labourware database and provides support to MUNFA members regarding this database. Is a member of, and provides support to, various committees including Communications, Benefits, Pensions, and Scholarship, including preparing background materials. Provides support to other committees and coordinates travel arrangements as required. Maintains the Interpretation Binder and provides administrative support to other staff as required.

Applicants should have at least 3-5 years’ experience in an administrative support position; graduation with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Labour Relations, or related area; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Expertise in Microsoft Office software, with a strong focus on Excel, website management (eg. WordPress) and social media platforms, with excellent written communications skills and time management skills are required. Ability to work collegially in a fast-paced environment is essential. Experience within a university setting and/or labour relations environment would be considered an asset.
