Labour Day Celebrations & Welcome to 2023/24 Term

MUNFA Members,

Today, September 1, is my first official day back in the role of MUNFA President. My sincere thanks to Dr. Ash Hossain for all of the hard work he put into this role during his term, especially during our recent strike.

I am very excited to be back in this role! As we head into this Labour Day long weekend let’s remember that the only reason that we enjoy the working conditions we have is because previous generations of academic staff members have organized, fought for them, and won.

What are things that need to change to improve your working conditions? The MUNFA Executive would love to hear your input. You can always get in touch at: munfa@mun.ca

Organizing for better working conditions is an ongoing endeavor. Let’s keep doing that work together.

Meanwhile, I hope one and all have an enjoyable Labour Day weekend!
