MUNFA has received a request to circulate the attached message from David Fitzgerald (University of California at San Diego) and Christina Clark-Kazak (York University) to encourage academics to consider signing an open letter ( http://crs.info.yorku.ca/open-letter) about the ongoing global refugee situation.
Although MUNFA does not take a political position on this situation, we are forwarding this important social justice issue for your consideration.
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of David Fitzgerald (University of California at San Diego) and myself, I am writing to encourage you to sign an open letter that we have prepared in the context of growing media attention to the ongoing global refugee situation. While many of us have responded individually through media interviews, advocacy, op eds, etc, we believe that a collective open letter could be useful to build pressure on refugee-hosting governments – at national and regional levels – to do more. We have deliberately kept the language broad and inclusive in order to appeal to the broadest number of people. We would be grateful if you could circulate this call to interested colleagues and consider signing the letter yourself:

Best regards,
Christina
