Signing Bonuses for Term Appointees – Deadline May 22, 2023

Along with general raises to base rates of pay, the signing of the new Collective Agreement brought
$2000 signing bonuses for MUNFA’s most precariously-employed members. All term appointees who held a contract during Academic Years 2021-22 or 2022-23 are entitled to bonuses, including regular and teaching term appointees, regardless of current employment status or length of contract (see Clause 31.15, full text below).

Full Text of Clause 31.15.

No ASM’s total salary (Basic Annual Salary plus market differential) shall be lowered from its value as of
August 31, 2020 as a result of the implementation of this Article.
The following increases shall be applied to Appendices D.1, D.2, D.3 and D.4 as follows:
• September 1, 2022 – 6%
• September 1, 2023 – 2%
• September 1, 2024 – 2%
• September 1, 2025 – 2%

As of date of signing, all term appointees on contract or any part of a contract in the Academic Years 2021-2022 or 2022-23 shall receive a $2,000 signing bonus. Employees who left employment with the university between September 1, 2021 and the date of signing shall have forty-five (45) days to contact Human Resources to request payment of the signing bonus.
