The MUN Faculty Association is organizing a panel to discuss mental health within the workplace. Despite the amount of attention given to mental health in today’s society, we still have a long way to go to improve attitudes and practices within many workplaces.
The National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, the first of its kind in the world, is a set of voluntary guidelines, tools and resources intended to guide organizations in promoting mental health and preventing psychological harm at work. The Standard considers mental illness prevention and mental health promotion, recognizing that the workplace plays an important role in an individual’s wellbeing.
The panel will be an opportunity to discuss the unique pressures placed on faculty and staff in the academic environment, and learn from the experiences of those involved with implementation of the Standard in Eastern Health. We encourage faculty, staff, and administration to join us on March 14th.
When: March 14, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00pm
Where: UC 3018 (the Landing)
