President’s Message – MUNFA Virtual Office Hours

Dear MUNFA Member,

We are focusing on improving the ways in which members can become engaged with their union. Part of this effort includes increasing the ways in which members can connect with the Union’s Executive Committee to ask questions, share information, and raise issues of concern with working conditions so that they can be addressed. We also know it is easier for many members to meet virtually rather than in person.

With this in mind, we will be holding Virtual Executive Office Hours as a pilot project – this will allow members to meet directly with members of the MUNFA Executive Committee and staff.

The first such office hours for current MUNFA members will be held:

Friday, October 4 (via Zoom)

9:45 to 11:30 am

Myself, Keith Dunne (MUNFA OMECC – staff), and Amy Wadden (MUNFA Labour Relations Officer – staff) will be available to meet with members during these office hours.

For this first session, we will book out 20 minute slots.

These sessions can be about individual work/contract related issues, broader university/workplace issues, questions about MUNFA (or how to get more involved), etc.

You can book a slot – HERE

Please reach out to Keith at membership.munfa@mun.ca if you have any questions.

In solidarity,

Ash Hossain

President
