The MUNFA Nominating & Balloting Committee is soliciting nominations for 2022-23 Executive Committee and Nominating & Balloting Committee. Additionally, as per Article V.5 of the MUNFA Constitution, nominations are being sought to fill three vacancies on the current MUNFA Executive Committee and three vacancies on the current Nominating & Balloting Committee.
Academic Staff Members (ASMs) from equity-seeking groups are encouraged to put their names forward. The Nominating & Balloting Committee also are looking for nominations from all campuses, representing a range of Faculties and Schools, including both tenure-stream and contractual Academic Staff Members (ASMs). As per the MUNFA Constitution, any Bargaining Unit member is eligible to hold office with MUNFA.
Please note that as per Clause 1.20 of the MUN/MUNFA Collective Agreement, “An ASM’s service to the Association shall be deemed academic service as set out in the appropriate articles in this Collective Agreement.”
Official nominating forms for the Executive Committee and Nominating & Balloting Committee (linked below) must be accompanied by the signature of the nominee indicating their willingness to serve, and the signatures of a proposer and seconder. All three must be members of MUNFA.
The nomination period ends at noon on February 23, 2022. Each candidate has the option of submitting a statement of not more than 150 words which shall be circulated in the case of a contested election. Such statements must be received by the MUNFA office by noon on February 24, 2022. For the 2022-23 Executive Committee, the following positions are to be filled (Nomination Form)
- Vice-President External/President Elect (1-year term)*
- Vice-President Internal (2-year term)
- Treasurer (2-year term)
- Four Members-at-Large (three 1-year terms and one 2 year term)
For the 2022-23 Nominating & Balloting Committee, four members are to be elected, each for a 1-year term. (Nomination Form)
Nominations for current MUNFA Executive Committee and Nominating & Balloting Committee (NOTE: Elected members to these positions will begin their terms immediately)
For the current Executive Committee, the following positions are to be filled (Nomination Form)
- Secretary (2-year term ending on August 31, 2023)
- One Member-at-Large (1-year term ending on August 31, 2022)
- One Term Appointed Member-at-Large (1-year term ending on August 31, 2022)
For the current Nominating & Balloting Committee, three members are to be elected, each for a 1-year term beginning immediately and ending on August 31, 2022. (Nomination Form)
