Good news! Our strike action is working. Some aspects of our labour action have been particularly difficult, especially administration’s plans to use replacement workers in nursing. This is a direct attack on some of our most precarious contract instructors. MUNFA is committed to addressing actions like these.
However, our solidarity and commitment to collective action are producing real results. The university has heeded our demands for a resumption of negotiations. The administration contacted the MUNFA bargaining team to signal they are willing to return to the table to negotiate. The two parties will meet tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9:30 am.
