SUBJECT: Blundon Centre Concerns
Members may be aware of the ongoing Association Grievance A-22-21, regarding under-resourcing and under-staffing of the Blundon Centre. The Blundon Centre is the accessibility and accommodations services centre on St. John’s Campus.
The MUNFA Executive has recently received reports from Academic Staff Members on St. John’s Campus of changes to the Blundon Centre’s assessment policy. The Blundon Centre has instructed some St. John’s Campus ASMs, in the instance of a student requiring a makeup assessment, to provide the accommodation themselves. This has raised several concerns as many ASMs do not have the appropriate means to provide these accommodations.
Any ASMs who have further input or information regarding the Blundon Centre that may inform grievance A-22-21 are asked to please email munfa@mun.ca.
