The MUNFA Executive now considers it necessary to begin the process of setting up a Job Action Committee (JAC) to coordinate plans for job action. While it is our hope that a mutually satisfactory Collective Agreement can be negotiated without job action, we intend to be ready in the event that job action is needed. The reports we have heard from the Negotiating Committee concerning the lack of progress over the past ten months do not make us optimistic.
In the past, MUNFA JACs have included at least three (3) Academic Staff Members. In addition, three (3) working groups in St. John’s will be established under the direction of the JAC: Communications, Strike Organization, and Picket Organization. A fourth working group will be responsible for activities at Grenfell Campus.
