Curriculum Vitaes and SciVal Cleanup Project

It has come to MUNFA’s attention that the Office of the Vice President Research (VPR) has contacted some Academic Units demanding Curriculum Vitaes (CVs) from individual ASMs who had not included one with their annual activity report. MUNFA would like to remind ASMs that, while the Association recognizes the University has a management right to request annual activity reports, the format of that reporting is up to the ASM and need not include the full CV. In addition, MUNFA has been made aware that the Office of the VPR requested the CVs for use in the “SciVal Cleanup Project.” Because SciVal is a bibliometric analytical tool (linked to Scopus) that allows administrators to generate comparative performance reports on institutions, Academic Units, and individual ASMs, MUNFA is also contacting the Office of the VPR for clarification on the purpose of this data collection.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the MUNFA office (munfa@mun.ca).
