The duties of members of Promotion and Tenure Committees will, in most units, now be complete. In this connection, the MUNFA Executive would like to draw members’ attention to the following clause of the Collective Agreement:
10.10 The Promotion and Tenure Committee shall make reports to the Administrative Head concerning decision year review, extension, tenure and promotion of Faculty Members. The Committee shall not be required to perform additional duties. (Emphasis added)
It is MUNFA’s view that the “additional duties” referred to in Clause 10.10 include responding to any questions concerning the Committee’s completed deliberations or procedures. Any member of a Promotion and Tenure Committee who is approached with such questions should contact the MUNFA office immediately (Ext. 8642 or munfa@mun.ca).
