Members may have noticed the Newsline item regarding filming on campus at the Bruneau Centre and Lot 1A on the St. John’s Campus. While Newsline notes that the cast and crew are following environmental health and safety protocols related to COVID-19, it has come to MUNFA’s attention that these protocols include exemptions for out-of-province workers to self-quarantine for 14 days. That detail was not reported in the Newsline communication.
We encourage ASMs with concerns to contact their Administrative Head and be aware of Clause 27.08:
“In circumstances where there is evidence that an ASM’s work space or immediate surroundings might reasonably pose a danger to their health, the University shall mitigate any danger or provide alternative work space. If the ASM is required to occupy an alternate workspace for more than five (5) days, the ASM may make a request to have office contents moved expeditiously to the new location. Such a request shall not be unreasonably denied.”
