You will no doubt have noticed from the previous announcement of the April General Meeting of MUNFA membership, that the meeting will take place during the day on April 23 at 11:00 a.m. The MUNFA Executive has long been concerned about the lack of attendance at General Meetings, particularly since our constitution requires that the membership approve the budget once year, which requires a quorum for the vote to be legitimate.
We therefore decided to hold the meeting at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, a time that does not conflict with exams, or with classes. This attempt at a day time meeting is to increase attendance. The only casualty of changing to a day time meeting is the loss of a reception. Nevertheless, we hope you will all seize this opportunity to make your voice count in your union.
