As part of the recently negotiated MUN/MUNFA Collective Agreement, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a committee to investigate a permanent teaching stream.
The committee shall be comprised of eight (8) members — four (4) ASMs appointed by MUNFA, four (4) members appointed by the university, and a mutually-agreed upon chair. The committee is to develop its own procedures and within twenty-four (24) months of its appointment, shall submit recommendations to the parties regarding qualifications, duties, workload and evaluation for permanent teaching stream. Inclusion of current term ASMs in a future permanent teaching stream shall be considered by the committee.
The MUNFA Executive is currently seeking expressions of interest from members who would be willing to sit on this committee. If interested, please send no more than 3 paragraphs to munfa@mun.ca explaining what experience/knowledge you possess that would be of benefit to the committee’s work. Deadline for expressions of interest is April 28, 2023.
Please note that the MUNFA Executive will establish a separate MUNFA advisory committee comprised of any and all interested members to provide support to the four (4) ASMs appointed to the joint committee.
