As part of the recently negotiated MUN/MUNFA Collective Agreement, the Parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing a Joint Gender Equity Salary Adjustments Committee to address gender-based inequities in total salary for women ASMs when compared to men ASM counterparts.
The Committee will be composed of five (5) persons: two (2) ASMs appointed by the Association, two (2) individuals appointed by the University, and a mutually-agreed upon Chair. The appointments shall take into account the need for Grenfell Campus representation. This Joint Committee shall determine its own procedures and shall complete its work within three (3) years following the signing of this Collective Agreement.
The MUNFA Executive is currently seeking expressions of interest from ASMs willing to sit on the Joint Gender Equity Salary Adjustments Committee. If interested, please send one paragraph to munfa@mun.ca explaining what experience/knowledge you possess that would be of benefit to the committee’s work. Deadline for expressions of interest is April 29, 2019.
