SUBJECT: The Education Accord NL
Late in December you may have noticed a news item indicating that an interim report of the Newfoundland Education Accord had been submitted to government.

The Education Accord advisory board, of which MUNFA is a member, was not provided with a copy of the interim report described in the above news item prior to its submission to government.
On January 9th the interim Education Accord NL report was publicly released [ LINK HERE]. MUNFA Executive received a copy of the interim report at that time. At 4:27 p.m. the same day, MUNFA’s representative on the advisory board, Dr. Josh Lepawsky, received an email invitation along with all advisory board members to attend a media availability with the Accord chairs and the Minister of Education scheduled for January 10th (today) at 11am.
MUNFA Executive sent its submission (LINK HERE) to the NL Education Accord leadership via email on November 13, 2024 and received confirmation of receipt that same day.
It is MUNFA Executive’s understanding that the final Education Accord report will not be released until March 2025. Meanwhile, a survey developed by the Accord’s leadership remains accessible at: https://educationaccordnl.ca/
MUNFA Executive encourages members to take part in the survey so that the Accord receives as much feedback as possible.
