The MUNFA Nominating & Balloting Committee is soliciting nominations for the 2026-27 Executive Committee and Nominating & Balloting Committee.
Academic Staff Members (ASMs) from equity-seeking groups are encouraged to put their names forward. TheNominating & Balloting Committee also are looking for nominations from all campuses, representing a range of Faculties and Schools, including both tenure-stream and contractual Academic Staff Members (ASMs). As per the MUNFA Constitution, any Bargaining Unit member is eligible to hold office with MUNFA.
Please note that as per Clause 1.20 of the MUN/MUNFA Collective Agreement, “An ASM’s service to the Association shall be deemed academic service as set out in the appropriate articles in this Collective Agreement.”
Official nominating forms for the Executive Committee and Nominating & Balloting Committee (linked below) must be accompanied by the signature of the nominee indicating their willingness to serve, and the signatures of a proposer and seconder. All three must be members of MUNFA.
The nomination period ends at noon on February 18, 2026. Each candidate has the option of submitting astatement of not more than 150 words which shall be circulated in the case of a contested election. Such statementsmust be received by the MUNFA office by noon on February 19, 2026. Nominations for 2026-27 MUNFA Executive Committee and Nominating & Balloting Committee
For the 2026-27 Executive Committee, the following positions are to be filled (Nomination Form):
- Vice-President External/President Elect (1-year term)*
- Vice-President Internal
- Treasurer (2-year term)
- Four Members-at-Large (three 1-year terms and one 2-year term)
*Following their 1 year term as Vice-President External, the person will then move into the position of President and in the subsequent year, move to the role of Past President.
For the 2026-27 Nominating & Balloting Committee, four members are to be elected, each for a 1-year term (Nomination Form).
