Dear Friends,
RE: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY (IWD)
International Women’s Day Celebrations is March 8th, and Unions have always been extremely supportive of IWD events.
This year’s theme is centered around the CLC’s continuing “Rise Up for Gender Justice” Campaign.
In March, women around the world will come together in solidarity to celebrate women’s struggle for equality. It is a time to reflect and take stock of women’s accomplishments in the year gone by and to renew our commitment to ongoing change.
This year, we will be celebrating International Women’s Day with Labour Sisters and friends at the St. John’s Farmers Market. The event will be held on March 7th, so be sure to purchase a ticket to come celebrate! There will be speakers and light refreshments available
Location: St. John’s Farmers Market, 245 Freshwater Rd
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Tickets will be $10 each and can be purchased in groups if it is more convenient for your organization.
Please contact me for tickets, kcodner@clcctc.ca or 709 691 1144.
We will also be accepting donations of new personal items (i.e.: toiletries, menstrual hygiene products, socks, undergarments, etc.). These products will be donated to a local woman’s shelter.
Drop by as you end your workday to meet some fabulous people who love to celebrate International Women’s Day!
In Sisterhood and Solidarity, on behalf of the IWD committee,
Kelly Codner
