We are MUNFA. Along with our LUMUN and TAUMUN colleagues, we are the academic workers who deliver the core scholarship mandates of our university (teaching, research, and service). Our work is complex, valuable, and essential.

MUNFA’s bargaining priorities focus on: equity, diversity, and inclusion; Indigenization of the Collective Agreement; improved working conditions for our most precarious colleagues; climate action; improved governance, openness, and transparency; and due process for our members. 

MUNFA’s bargaining committee presented the Administration with concrete contract language on each of these priorities. While some progress was made, the Administration rebuffed most of our efforts and, at the same time, made proposals for major changes to the collective agreement yet provided almost no concrete contract language to do so. As a consequence MUNFA has requested conciliation.

We, the undersigned, urge you to approach the conciliation table in good faith with MUNFA’s bargaining committee.
