The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) is now seeking nominations of representatives from affiliates and federations of labour to Advisory Committees and Working Groups for the 2026-2029 term.
The committees and working groups provide advice to the Officers and, through them, to the Canadian Council. For your information, the Terms of Reference for committees and working groups can be downloaded here. For ease of reference, please see the list below:

CLC committees and working groups usually meet twice per year, in Ottawa. We encourage you to nominate/renominate representatives with both an interest in and knowledge of the work carried out by the Committee or Working Group.
The local nominating the representative is responsible for the expenses associated with the person attending the meeting.
It is important that you consider nominating people from equity-deserving groups – women, workers of colour, Indigenous workers, workers with disabilities, young workers and 2SLGBTQI+ workers.
For your information, the working groups for Indigenous Workers, 2SLGBTQI+ Workers, Disability Rights and Workers of Colour are sub-committees of the Human Rights Committee. For this reason, Working Group meetings are held in conjunction with the Human Rights Committee. Working Group members will also be members of the Human Rights Committee and will attend meetings of that Committee as well as their Working Group meeting.
The CLC Young Workers Advisory Committee is comprised of persons 30 years of age or younger at the time of their appointment.
Our Officers and staff are planning dates for meetings this fall. Therefore, it is important you submit names of your representatives as soon as possible in order to allow them to have the maximum time for notice of meetings.
Please send nominations to the NUCAUT Office by July 2, 2026. Please include full contact information including email, phone number(s), and postal address for each nominee.
In solidarity,
Robin Whitaker, President
